U.S. Secret Service officers arrested a Venezuelan man near the White House after he allegedly threatened to kill Donald Trump and was found with three firearms in a stolen vehicle, the Department of Homeland Security told Fox News.
What DHS says happened
DHS said Secret Service officers approached the man Thursday evening after spotting him acting suspiciously in a parked car on Constitution Avenue in Washington, D.C., according to Fox News. The department told the outlet the suspect said he was hearing voices directing him to travel to Washington and kill Trump.

Weapons and a stolen vehicle
During the investigation, officers recovered three firearms and ammunition, DHS told Fox News. The department described the weapons as an AR-15–style rifle and two handguns. In a social media post, Fox News listed the handguns as a MAC-10 and a Glock 43X, along with the AR-15–style rifle. DHS also said the vehicle was stolen.
Suspect identified; immigration history cited by DHS
Officials identified the suspect as Ronny Yordrix Guanipa Chrinos. DHS told Fox News he entered the U.S. illegally through Texas in March 2024, was arrested by U.S. Border Patrol, and was later released into the interior under the Biden administration. Fox News reported that Immigration and Customs Enforcement has lodged a detainer and that the suspect faces multiple weapons- and vehicle-related charges.
Official comment
“Thanks to our brave Secret Service officers, this illegal alien with three firearms in his vehicle was arrested near the White House before he could harm anyone,” Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin told Fox News. “On top of threatening President Trump, he is an illegal alien from Venezuela who had no business being in our country in the first place. This is just an example of the incredible work done by the men and women of the Secret Service every single day.”
