Car features you shouldn’t live without

Do you enjoy driving your car to the point where it becomes an obsession? You’re not alone. We all love a good ride, and people can be extremely passionate about their vehicles—whether it’s a product of the amount of money spent on them or just because they love cars so much. This is why there are endless amounts of products and accessories available for your vehicle.

From remote starting to GPS to backup cameras, there are a lot of great features you can add to your car. You can make your vehicle more useful and enjoyable with the addition of some simple accessories. As I’m sure you know, there are tons of accessories out there. Listed below are some popular car features I recommend for every vehicle.

  • Bluetooth hands free calling: Bluetooth is very popular for cell phones, but not so much for cars. Nowadays though, many automakers have integrated Bluetooth phone systems into their vehicles. This means that drivers can make or take calls from their Bluetooth enabled phone without ever having to touch the phone. In addition to making calls easier, this also makes it safer because drivers can keep both hands on the wheel at all times during a call. You can also use a Bluetooth headset with your cell phone in order to be completely hands-free while driving.
  • Tire Pressure Monitoring System: This system helps to monitor the pressure of the tires so that they do not get punctured in a place where there is no gas station or pump. Without this system, it would be difficult to know when your tires are getting flat.
  • Driver Fatigue Monitoring System: This system warns you when you are driving for too long without taking breaks because if you drive for too long without taking breaks, your mind becomes really tired and you end up making mistakes while driving.
  • Keyless Entry System: This is a very convenient feature in a car and if it doesn’t have this feature, then people have to carry the keys in their pocket or purse which could be dangerous sometimes because you might lose them or someone could steal them from your pocket or purse.
  • Vehicle Stability Control: Vehicle stability control is an electronic system that helps prevent loss of control due to skidding and sliding on slippery surfaces such as gravel or snow. Vehicle stability control systems have three main sensors: one each for the front and back wheels and one in the steering wheel assembly which monitors steering input, vehicle speed and yaw rate (the rate at which the vehicle’s nose is pointing differs from its direction of travel). VSC then uses this information to adjust engine power, braking force and traction control to help keep the vehicle on track. If a skid occurs, vsc applies brakes individually to restore traction. If a slide continues, vsc reduces engine power.
  • Blind spot detection: This nifty feature uses sensors to alert you if another vehicle is passing by your side or in your blind spot. Sensors also tell the system when there’s an object in the lane next to you, like a bicyclist or a group of pedestrians, which can cause you to change lanes.
  • Adaptive cruise control: If you’ve ever been on the highway behind someone who can’t drive more than 5 mph over the speed limit, adaptive cruise control is for you. This feature maintains a safe distance between your car and others ahead of you, reducing your stress level while driving. If traffic slows down or speeds up, your car will seamlessly adjust its speed as well.
  • Lane departure warning: It’s easy to lose concentration while driving, especially when something unexpected happens on the road ahead of you. Lane departure warning uses sensors and cameras to determine if your car is about to drift into another lane.

In the end, the decision to purchase an item is one based on your personal preferences. You’re the one who will interface with it on a daily basis and you’ll need to determine which of these items make the most sense for you and your needs. In addition, it’s important that you remember that many of these products can be found at different levels of cost. Don’t feel like you have to completely empty your wallet for the most expensive version for it to be worth it. What is important is that your chosen luxury car has some sort of compelling option package or add-on that can improve your driving experience and justify its additional expense. Whether you’re a car enthusiast or a rookie, this list can help you choose the features and accessories that are best for you.
