With a career spanning over 26 years since his success with karting at six years of age, Sergio Perez has built a name for himself both on and off the track. Let’s look at some facts about Sergio Perez.
- He loves golfing.
Checo began playing golf at the age of 17 when he moved to England and currently plays with a handicap of 18, which isn’t bad for someone who plays less than once a month during the F1 season.
- Checo Checks The Stock Market
In an interview with Redbull Racing, he said “I really enjoy looking at the stock market and I even own some stocks too. If you look at it every single day you go through a lot of emotions, one day is very good, one day is very bad, and it’s like with racing, it doesn’t matter what you do, it’s where you finish. Overall I just really like it and generally I think it’s a good investment.”
- Perez runs a Foundation
In 2012, in his home city of Guadalajara, Mexico, Chicó Pérez created The Checo Pérez Foundation to help children and other vulnerable groups. The foundation’s work is something that Chicó is very proud of.
“It’s nice, because you can help the people out there that are less fortunate than yourself. As a charity we’ve done a lot over the years. For example, we had a bad earthquake three years ago and we focused on helping with that. We gave houses back to those that lost them. I’m very proud of the work the foundation has done.”
