If you think spending time in the man cave is only about watching the game on TV, eating pizza, and checking out your gear, then boy do I have a treat for you. Although all that sounds pretty fun it doesn’t capture the true essence of a well appointed man cave, or what we are going to consider a “man den” from now on. What exactly is a man den? Well that’s what we will try to define and take a journey into learning some of the essential tools of a man’s den.
A man den is a hide away. A place to relax, read a book, watch a movie and enjoy a drink. A little slice of heaven away from the stress of the world. It’s important that a man has all the right elements to allow you to unwind and get away from it all – and what are more important ingredients than the comfy chair, awesome soundtrack and bar of complimentary drinks. I’ll show you what tools you need in your man cave.
- The Entertainment Center
Here you chill and relax, and your relaxation can take many forms. A large screen TV does the job for most guys. But if you’re a gamer, a large screen monitor should be a priority for you instead. Don’t forget to connect your surround sound speakers and all the trimming.
- A Comfy Couch with Reclining Seats and Cup Holders
Man-sized seating is essential for any cave. The best man cave is big enough to serve as double beds and can recline with individual footrests. They also have cup holders in the armrests.
- Smart Home Hub
A man cave should be controlled from the comfort of your couch, and you have one solution: a smart home hub. It’s more than just having a universal remote for your TV and speakers. It requires the lights, media, and anything electronic to be remote controlled.
- The Bar
A mini-fridge is a great addition to the cave. A bar if present is the ultimate choice for the man cave. One of the great things about a man cave is not having to step out to get something.
- Hidden Man Cave Entrance
If you want to keep unwanted people from gaining access to the den, a hidden door is the answer. It could be in the form of a wall panel, a mirror, cabinet or a bookshelf in the library. What’s more surprising when you reveal the hidden door to someone!!!!
- The Gaming Rig
Be it the consoles and controllers or Pcs and keyboards, your man cave should have the ultimate gaming rig with sound proof walls insulated to block out sounds. You don’t want to wake the neighbors while gaming at night.
- Delivery Door
You could get your food delivered straight to the man cave through a back porch entrance instead of going through the front door. If your man cave shares a wall with the kitchen, that makes it even better, things like snacks can be passed through a small pass-through rather than going around. How fun is that?
