Before she started racing on dry land, she first made her name on the water setting new speed records. In fact, she made multiple records as the fastest solo female powerboat driver on water.
Mrs. Swoop Journey: From Water Sports To Drag Racing
Summer Richardson A.K.A. Mrs. Swoop started her racing career on the water with performance boats in 1-mile shootout events at Lake Havasu and Lake of the Ozarks.
Mrs. Swoop set a world record in 2016 with a top speed of 185 mph in a 388 Skater powerboat.
As boating accidents continue to surge, Mrs. Swoop realized that water sports are becoming too dangerous. But she still wanted to continue her racing career, so she decided to join drag racing with her now-husband, Travis Richardson, and father, Don London, joining her.
It was fate that brought Mrs. Swoop to the drag racing world, coincidentally the Top Fuel driver Shawn Langdon’s dad, Chad Langdon, was selling his entire Super Comp operation, which became the perfect fit for her drag racing career.
Mrs. Swoop then started her race team “Swoop Motorsports” which has five cars in the fleet and started racing in Super Comp and Top Dragster classes.
She started her drag racing career In 2018, participated in the NHRA Division 7 Sportsman class in Super Comp. In 2019 she got licensed in Top Dragster and will be running SC and TD in 2020 with her sights on Top Fuel one day. Mrs. Swoop applies her High-Performance attitude to everything she does from business and fitness to the water and dragstrip.
For years, her dad becomes the engine builder for their team.

Her husband Travis Richardson A.K.A Mr. Swoop runs the business and accounting side of Swoop Motorsports along with running his family-owned mechanical contracting company.
Mr. Swoop also manages the Race Team and organizes all the races and logistics for the team. He is full tilt all the time, his motto is “Sleep when your dead” Travis too comes from a long background of Performance boating and had to follow Summer into the drag racing. Travis runs Super Comp class in division 7 NHRA sportsman class.
